How to Make an Alabama Slammer

An Alabama Slammer is a popular cocktail that is made with Southern Comfort, amaretto liqueur, sloe gin, and orange juice or lemon juice.

Ingredients

• 3/4 oz Southern Comfort
• 3/4 oz amaretto liqueur
• 3/4 oz vodka
• 3/4 oz sloe gin
• 3 oz orange juice
• Orange slice and maraschino cherries for garnish

Steps

1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
2. Add ice to a cocktail shaker.
3. Add the Southern Comfort, amaretto liqueur, vodka, sloe gin and orange juice to the cocktail shaker.
4. Cap the shaker.
5. Shake the ingredients vigorously for about five seconds.
6. Strain into the highball glass.
7. Garnish with an orange slice and/or maraschino cherries if desired. An orange and cherry flag can be made using an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
8. Serve the drink.

Tips

• Southern Comfort tastes very different than bourbon whiskey, so the whiskey is an alternative but not a substitute for Southern Comfort.
• Some people may not like the taste of Southern Comfort, so bourbon whiskey may be a preferable ingredient.
• I have also seen this drink with 1/2 oz Vodka instead of the peach schnapps.
